Celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava on 01-11-2020
Karnataka Rajyotsava is celebrated at Veerashaiva College, Ballari on 01-11-2020, Sunday.
Dr. K. C. Sajjan, In-Charge Principal of Veerashaiva College, Ballari inaugurated the programme by flag hoisting. He mentioned that, Karnataka Rajyotsava is the Kannada state festival which is also known as Karnataka Formation Day and is celebrated on 1 November every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. On 01-11-2020, the entire state wears a festive look on this day as the red and yellow Kannada flags are hoisted at different strategic locations across the state and the Kannada anthem ("Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate") is chanted.
Sri. Gonal Rajashekar Gouda, Chairman, College Governing council, veerashaiva College was send greeting on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava. He mentioned that, Kannadigas celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava across the state without any distinction of religion, caste and gender. Many people celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava by hoisting the Karnataka State flags (red and yellow) and chanting of the Kannada anthem (Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate). The celebrations also include carrying of multicoloured tableaux along with performances of the folk artists and classical Carnatic music.
On the auspicious occasion, all the department teaching Staff and non teaching Staff were present.
