The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was inaugurated by Shri Shivakumar (Deputy Superintendent of Police), Ballari city on 26/06/2019. The problem of drug addiction could be solved by the parents by monitoring and supervising the activities of their children. Shri Gonal Rajashekhar Goud, Chairman, presided over the function. He said, one addicted person is found in 74% of the families in India. This figure indicates the collapse of moral system. Demoralization, Negligence of Parents, Lack of Love and Affection, Bad Companionship, Depression and Social situations are mainly responsible for drug addiction. The children in puberty stage should not be allowed to live in isolated environment. The adolescents who have become addicts to drugs are suffering from short and long term health problems. Accident, Suicide, Family disorganization, Employment loss, Debt are some of the major effects of drug addiction. We should strengthen the relationship between parents and children to prevent this problem.
