Inauguration of Swachh Hi Seva Programme - December, 2018.

           A five days Swachha Hi Seva programme was inaugurated by Dr.Venkataiah Appigeri on 11/12/2018. In his inaugural speech, he spoke about the necessity of according top priority for the implementation of Swachh Hi Seva programme. He expressed dissatisfaction over the poor involvement of public in it and disinterest to come out from customary way of life. The mortality rate is high among the children below 5 years of age. It is mainly caused by open defecation and pollution. Toilets should be provided at personal, cluster and community level. Liquid and solid wastes should be classified and disposed in a proper place. We can recycle wastes and reuse it for multiple purposes. Dr.G.Rajashekhar, Principal, presided over the function. He stated that Swachha Bharath mission would strengthen Indian economy and gave impetus to tourism. As a part of this programme cleaning of College campus and streets was undertaken on the same day.

        A rally on Swachh Bharath was conducted on 12.12.2018. About 150 NCC cadets and students took part in it. Dr.G.Rajashekhar, Principal inaugurated it by showing green signal. The rally moved along the main road and streets in the cantonment area. The cadets & students shouted the slogans and displayed placards holding in their hands. A special talk on Swachha Hi Seva was organized on 13.12.2018. Sri Siddaram G. Mulaje, delivered a talk on the contribution of Swachha Hi Seva to the development of economy and tourism. He also stressed upon the role of youth in the success of the programme.  

        The NCC cadets enacted a street play called “Parisara Rakshisi Desha Ulisi” in VIMS campus on 14/12/2018. The play was enjoyed by the villagers who came to VIMS hospital for treatment. The impact of play is incredible. The messages with regard to routine practices that help in preserving nature and lives of the living beings have been passed on to the public. All the events are conducted successfully.
