125th Year Celebration of Chicago Speech of Swami Vivekananda
Department of Sociology organized the celebration of 125th year of Chicago speech of Shri Swami Vivekananda in collaboration with college NSS Units on 18.09.2018. Swami Tyagishwarananda Maharaj, Ramkrishna Ashrama, Davanagere, was invited as a key speaker. He said, Swami Vivekananda had awakened the young people with his vibrating speeches. Depending on one’s own capacity is always good from the point of view of leading the life with prestige and dignity. It was Swamiji who opened the eyes of the people in the world and popularized Hinduism and its culture in the whole world. He was the first monk of India who introduced the Vedanta Philosophy in Western societies. Swamiji had shown special concern for the sufferings of poor people. He established Ramakrishna Mission to provide services of different kinds to people, caught in distress. He tried sincerely to solve illiteracy, poverty, blind beliefs & etc.
