Rules & Regulations

 

  1. Only registered members are allowed to use the Library
  2. Registered members are issued a bar-coded library borrowers card. The borrower’s cards are valid for the respective academic year only, and fresh cards will be issued for each year. At the end of the academic year borrowers card shall be returned to the library
  3. Members should produce Library card ID  card at the entrance of  the Library
  4. Readers should enter their names and sign in the gate register kept at the entrance of the Library.
  5. Readers should observe strict silence in the Library,  no group discussion are permitted in the library
  6. Using cell phones and audio instruments within or without speaker or head phone is strictly prohibited in the library Premises.
  7. Library borrower’s cards are not transferable. Students must not lend their Readers Ticket to any other student to borrow books from the Library. Library facilities will be withdrawn for students misusing cards. The borrowers are responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  8. The readers are required to keep the borrowers card safe in case of loss of the card the reader has to report to  the librarian in writing after checking in the borrowing register they will be issued a fresh replacement card on payment of Rs.50/- per card
  9. Borrowers must satisfy themselves with the physical condition of books before borrowing. Marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed seriously. In such case readers shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
  10. Books are issued to the students for 14 days only. In the last page slip is pasted and stamped mentioning the due date and failing to  return the same within the due date overdue charges of Rs.1/-per day per book will be charged
  11. If the borrowed books are lost, the loss of the book should be reported immediately to the Librarian and the same copy  to be replaced otherwise has to pay two times the price of the book along with overdue charges.
  12. Readers are not allowed to bring personnel books or personnel belongings like bags, umbrella etc inside the Library.  These materials are to be kept at the property counter at their own risk. Readers are advised not to leave their precious and valuables items like money, mobile credit card etc., at the property counter.
  13. Reference books are meant for in-site reference only they are not issued outside the library. Periodicals and general magazines are meant for reference in the library only and they will not be issued outside the library.
  14. Eating/ Smoking/ littering in the Library premises is strictly prohibited.
  15. Reprography/ Xerox  service provided  in the library at 50ps for A4 size page
  16. Each student shall obtain NO DUE CERTIFICATE from the library at the end of the academic year.
